Privacy Policy

Skwrl turns a screenshot you choose into the next thing you do. This policy describes the current App Store build and the data it handles locally.

Data Skwrl Handles

Skwrl can process screenshots and images you select, recent screenshots you explicitly choose to import after granting Photos access, text and URLs you share into Skwrl, text read from selected images on device, generated save titles, summaries, categories, actions, dates, routes, source links, privacy receipts, widget metadata, Clean share text payloads, PNG image cards, and a local first-run preference.

Local Processing

Skwrl processes user-authorized content on device by default. The current build does not require an account and does not upload your screenshots, text read from images, saved actions, reminders, calendar items, share cards, widget metadata, or privacy receipts to a Skwrl server.

Selected image data and derived text can be stored locally in Skwrl's private shared container so the app, Share Extension, and widget can show saved actions. This local store can be removed with the Privacy tab's local erase control. Depending on device settings, local app data may be included in device backups managed by iOS.

Photos

Skwrl reads photos or screenshots you explicitly select through the system picker or share sheet. If you tap Scan recent, Skwrl asks for Photos access, imports recent local screenshot assets only, and shows the result of that tap. Skwrl does not run a background camera-roll crawl.

Calendar and Reminders

Skwrl requests Calendar or Reminders access only when you choose an action that creates a calendar hold or reminder. Skwrl uses that access to perform the action you selected.

Sharing

When you use Clean share, Skwrl creates a sanitized text payload or PNG image card on device from the saved action plan. The shared output does not include raw screenshots or full text read from the image. Content is shared only through the destination you choose in the system share sheet.

Privacy Tab and Local Erase

The Privacy tab summarizes local storage, sharing, widget readiness, system access, recent receipts, and erase controls. The local erase control clears Skwrl's local saves and Spotlight index. Calendar events or Reminders already created through user-chosen actions are managed in Apple's Calendar and Reminders apps.

Spotlight Search

Skwrl can index save title, category, status, action metadata, and stable local identifiers in Spotlight so saved actions can be found from system search. Skwrl does not add full text read from screenshots to Spotlight keywords.

Shortcuts, Siri, and System Search

Skwrl exposes local actions such as asking Skwrl about a saved screenshot, system search, save creation, reminders, and sanitized sharing through App Intents and Shortcuts. These actions read local save metadata and do not upload screenshot content to a Skwrl server.

On devices that support the Find Saved system surface, Skwrl can open the best local match for a suggested query from system search. Find Saved reads the same local save metadata that Skwrl indexes on this phone and does not send screenshot content or search queries to a Skwrl server.

Cloud Processing

No cloud processing is present in the current build. Screenshot content, text read from images, saved actions, reminders, calendar items, share cards, widget metadata, and privacy receipts are not sent to cloud services. If future versions add optional cloud processing, this policy and App Store privacy answers must be updated before release.

Tracking and Ads

Skwrl does not track you across apps or websites and does not include advertising SDKs in the current build.
